Along the ride, we see howling monkeys, coatis, and birds like toucans, egrets, and kingfishers. We’ll stop for a picnic on the shore of Lake Arenal, where it’s possible to swim—a perfect place for a picture or just a relaxing time by the lake. What a view! The volcano and the lake are visible during all the rides (weather permitting). 
The distance is 13 to 26 km/8 to 16 miles, with an altitude gain of 85 m (280 ft). The terrain is a secondary road of gravel and sand with a few rocky spots and is flat with a few short hills. This tour has a difficulty level for beginners and intermediates.
